Hi everyone! Whoopsie, it has been a hot minute since I last talked to you. The last two weeks have been incredibly busy, one with lots of school work, and another one with no less than two award shows in one week. As you might know, I was participating in two award competitions, the Zalando Blogger Awards (category People's Choice) and the Weekend Blog & Digital Awards (where I was nominated in the category Fashion). Both award ceremonies were in the same week, and today I'm going to tell you about one of them: the Zalando Blogger Awards!

Last year was the first time UPR Belgium organised this celebration of fashion (bloggers), and this year, things were bigger than ever. The location was Hôtel de la Poste, in Brussels, situated in a gorgeous industrial setting. There was a DIY booth with Veritas and Adidas (sadly, my shoe size wasn't available), there was a corner filled with a fashion preview for next season, and of course there were amazing beats by Ouni, who gave it her all (as per usual). Here are some shots of the night!

And of course, there had to been winners! I was extremely happy to hear that I was in the top four of the category I participated in, and it got all awkward and funny (and kinda great too) when I saw my head projected on a wall all night long. Hi there! This was all thanks to you, and I can't even describe how thankful I am for every single opportunity you have given me already. Big congrats to the winners too, you guys rock!

After the ceremony, it was time to start dancing, chatting, photoboothing (we did take quite some pics there),... And after a night full of fun, friends, and yes, drinks, I was lucky enough to be able and crash at the amazing The Hotel in the centre of Brussels. I will publish an in-depth post on that hotel in two days, so stay tuned! And prepare to be stunned... ! In the mean time, here is a little sneak peek of the stunning view we had over nightly Brussels.

Thanks to UPR and Zalando for the night and the images, thanks to everyone who made it a fun night, and thanks to you for reading!

I wanted to add a little postscriptum, regarding the events that took place in Paris this Friday. I couldn't believe what was happening when I followed the livestream, and my mind still can't grasp the situation fully. I am heartbroken, and therefore I wanted to wait with posting, but like my friend Annebeth said on her blog: 'I post,  not as an act of resistance or to make some grand point, but because this is what all of us around the world and throughout history have (had) to do at times like these. Continue, even if that means posting pics of avocado toast.' My thoughts and soul are with the family, friends and victims of everyone affected by these attacks. One last thing: be nice to eachother. We are all we have.

  1. Die foto verdient het dubbel en dik om in het groot geprojecteerd te worden ;)
