Hey guys! I am so excited to be posting again! Today I have another beauty post for you guys, a lot like the first one I did a couple of weeks ago. In these beauty posts, I share a make-up look I created around a collection, a theme or a specific product, and today, I'm focusing on the Mac x Star Trek collection!
You might not know this about me, but I am actually obsessed with sci-fi movies and series. Also: outer space is something I am really intrigued by, and I am a sucker for spacey influences in my fashion and beauty game. I have said it before, and I'll say it again: I secretly am a magpie at heart.

With that in mind, you can probably guess my excitment when I saw the first images of the Mac x Star Trek collection. Swirly, planete-esque powders, metallic lipsticks, futuristic looking lashes,... I was sold! I was lucky enough to get some items from the collection, and I immediately started thinking about possible looks. A lot of the products in this collection are actually very wearable if you want them to be, and that's great for everyday life, but you guys know me: if I get the chance to go all out, I go ALL OUT.

The items I got were mainly gold-toned, so I based my look around that. I worked with  three of the Mac x Star Trek products: a frosty golden lipstick (The Enemy Within), a (very opaque and very long lasting!) golden liquid liner (Pure Show) and a taupey shimmery pressed pigment (The Naked Time), which I used as a highlighter. Y'all, I am SO in love with this collection. The frosty lipsticks are amazing, very buildable and very comfortable to wear, and I can't wait to get my hands on the darkest shade, Kling It On.
The pressed pigment is extremely glittery, sparkly and very pretty, but the real show stopper for me was the liner. I have been on the hunt for a nice golden liner for a while now, and this one is just amazing. I must say the applicator can be a bit hard (literally) to work with, but when you get the hang of it and you get it right, it's amazing. This liner does not move, and it is extremely pigmented. Here, I used it messily, to get that post-apocalyptic kinda vibe. I love!

I kept my eyelids very nude, but I did put some gloss (Mac Mineralize Lip Glass in Inter-Spatial) on there, to add a little something, and to tie them in with the whole shiny look I had going on. For some odd, spaced out details, I created a small wing on the outer corners of my eyes, without any connection, and I added a dark circle in the inner corner, where one would normally highlight. To give myself that full alien look, I 'erased' my brows and lashes with some white, and I contoured with pink and purple tones, instead of the regular browns and greys. By the way, how do you like my new hair? I got fed up with my long hair, and I wanted to try something new. I adore the edgier, more androgynous look this buzzcut gives me! What do you think?

The results of this shoot are quite out of this world (pun intended), and I have to give props to the photographer for that too. Lotte (Moortgat) has been a friend of mine for almost eight years now, and last year she decided to chase her dreams, and she's now studying photography in Brussels. It's so cool to see how she is evolving, and I am very proud that I am here to witness it. Thank you boo for turning out this (very last minute) shoot, I looooove the results! Also: how awesome is that &Other Stories metallic raincoat paired with this look? Thanks, Camille, for letting me use it for this series of pictures!

The details of every product used are below, let me know what your thoughts are on this extraterrestrial face of make-up! I had so much fun creating this for you guys, and I would highly recommend you taking a look at the Mac x Star Trek collection. It is limited edition, but you can still shop it online and in some stores!

  2. Zo cool, Joppe! Doet me denken aan Stranger Things, ook al is dat meer alien dan spacey. ZEKER KIJKEN, er speelt zo'n graaf meisje in mee :)
